Monticello Resident Named to Surgical Technology Honor Society

Craig Perkins of Monticello, a recent graduate of the Surgical Technology program at Somerset Community College, has been named to the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) National Honor Society. Perkins was nominated for the honor by Tammy Watters, Surgical Technology program coordinator.

“We recognize integrity, intellect and character among the student population at SCC,” said Watters. “Craig exemplifies these positive qualities and I was proud to nominate him for the honor.”

In order to be nominated, students must be members of AST, be in strong academic standards with a grade point average of 3.75 or higher, uphold the Surgical Technology Code of Honor, demonstrate participation in a wide array of community involvement and service and exhibit dedication and commitment to patients.

As a member of the AST National Honor Society, Perkins received an Honor Society certificate, pin and lifetime membership card.
