Current and future students at Somerset Community College are invited to fill out a scholarship form prior to March 1, 2014 in order to be considered for Fall 2014 scholarships.
A variety of scholarships are available thanks to the many generous organizations and individuals who have made gifts to SCC for this purpose. In total, SCC gives out nearly $300,000 in scholarships each year.
Scholarships vary in the amount awarded, as well as in eligibility criteria. Award recipients are chosen based on academic achievement, potential to succeed, participation in school activities and community service, special awards, demonstrated leadership and demonstrated financial need.
Most scholarships cover the cost of six to 12 credit hours of tuition and some are renewable for a second year so long as the recipients maintains requirements such as full-time enrollment and GPA.
To be considered for a scholarship at SCC, students must fill out only one scholarship application. The application can be found at http://somerset.kctcs.edu/Costs_and_Financial_Aid/Scholarships.
