Last year’s Miss SCC, Ashley Johnson, was a semi-finalist in the 2014 Miss Kentucky pageant and was named the 2014 Kentucky’s Choice contestant. Johnson, a student at both Somerset Community College and Western Kentucky University, will be on hand at the 2015 Miss SCC pageant to crown the winner.
In addition to Johnson, the reigning Miss Kentucky, Ramsey Carpenter, will emcee the event and will also perform.
The pageant is open to current and former SCC students and to high school seniors from Adair, Casey, Clay, Clinton, Cumberland, Jackson, Knox, Laurel, Lincoln, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Russell, Wayne or Whitley Counties.
Contestants will be judged in the areas of talent, personal interview, on-stage interview, swimsuit and evening gown. The winner of the pageant will receive a full two-year tuition scholarship to Somerset Community College, with additional prizes to be announced prior to the event.

The pageant is open to the public. There is no cost of admission, but donations to the Children’s Miracle Network will be accepted.
