Have you always dreamed of taking that next step to becoming a nurse? Here’s your chance!

The Somerset Community College Practical Nursing Program is accepting new students into both the Laurel and Clinton programs for the Spring 2014 semester, which starts in January.  The deadline to apply is October 18.

The program pass rates are 100% for first time test takers of the NCLEX-PN (the licensure exam taken by Practical Nurses).  Students are able to obtain jobs from nursing homes, doctor’s offices, home health agencies, and hospitals.

Successful completion of the LPN program can be a stepping stone to becoming a Registered Nurse (RN).  SCC has a special program called “Career Pathways” which enables LPNs to get the necessary courses to become RNs on weekends and evenings, so those who are currently working can continue to do so.

Applicants must complete a nurse aide course and be listed on the state nurse aide registry, CPR, psychology, and the first anatomy course prior to the start of classes in January if accepted into the program.  We are a selective admission program.  The program is three semesters (18 months).

For more information, contact Billie Shelton at 606-387-3710 for the Clinton location;  Jeff Clark at 606-878-4759 for the Laurel location;  or Ruth Martin at 606-451-6813 for both SCC locations.
